On 3 July, the municipality of Moclín hosted the premiere of the fifth episode of La Voz de las Torres, an innovative audiovisual initiative that highlights the cultural heritage, history and identity of the territory through creative storytelling.

Developed within the framework of HERIT ADAPT, the documentary series combines fictional storytelling and artificial intelligence to explore the rich historical heritage of the province of Granada, focusing on the defensive watchtowers located in municipalities such as Moclín, Montefrío and Íllora.

This new episode continues the project’s commitment to preserving and disseminating the cultural legacy of the towers and their surrounding landscape, bringing together local communities, researchers and institutions.

The programme included an institutional welcome, followed by the presentation and screening of the documentary episode. Participants included the Mayor of Moclín, the Provincial Deputy responsible for European Funds, Development, Industry and Employment at the Provincial Council of Granada, and members of the interdisciplinary research team from the University of Granada involved in HERIT ADAPT.

The event also marked the official inauguration of the new lighting system installed at Moclín’s watchtowers. This initiative strengthens the connection between heritage interpretation, audiovisual storytelling and the physical enhancement of local heritage assets, increasing their visibility and reinforcing their role in sustainable tourism development and territorial identity.

As part of the event, attendees also participated in a public evaluation exercise, sharing their views on the documentary series, including its ability to communicate local heritage, its attractiveness as part of a tourism experience, and its potential contribution to increasing awareness and appreciation of the territory.
