On 17–20 June 2025, HERIT ADAPT partner SDR participated in the XR Salento 2025 Conference, an event dedicated to eXtended Reality (XR) that has been connecting the AR/VR community since 2014. The conference provides a platform for scientists, engineers, educators, students, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals to collaborate, share ideas, and explore the latest advancements in XR technologies.
During the event, the co-authored paper “Integrating Extended Reality in Cultural Heritage: From Visitor Experience to Sustainable Engagement” was presented. The study, conducted partially under HERIT ADAPT, outlines a holistic approach to designing and implementing XR interventions at the Roman Houses of the Celio Hill. It demonstrates how XR can enhance visitor experiences while promoting sustainable engagement with cultural heritage sites, bridging technology, education, and heritage preservation in innovative ways.
