Workshop on Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Sustainability at Sapienza University of Rome

20/03/2026
Sapienza University of Rome hosted a 2-day workshop on Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Sustainability, bringing together 21 participants to develop innovative business concepts that promote sustainable urban tourism.

The workshop focused on exploring entrepreneurial ideas to enhance the visitor experience while preserving the cultural and environmental value of the Celio neighbourhood, one of Rome’s most historic districts and pilot area of HERIT ADAPT. Through collaborative discussions, creative design sessions, and interdisciplinary teamwork, participants identified opportunities to strengthen the area’s tourism offer by combining sustainability, cultural heritage, and local community engagement.

The event encouraged participants to apply innovation and entrepreneurial thinking to real-world challenges, generating practical proposals that support responsible tourism, foster local economic development, and contribute to the long-term sustainability of the Celio neighbourhood.
