15/05/2026

On Monday, 11 May 2026, an exhibition opening and a series of expert lectures were held at the Rector’s Palace in Dubrovnik as part of the HERIT ADAPT (Interreg Euro-MED) event, organized by the Dubrovnik development agency DURA and the Dubrovnik Museums.

The event took place within the framework of EU Project Open Days 2026, organized by the Croatian Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds.

During the event, the HERIT ADAPT project was presented together with its key deliverables, highlighting the main results achieved so far and the tools developed for the documentation, analysis, and protection of cultural heritage in Dubrovnik.

The exhibition, which will remain open to visitors for the next 30 days, is dedicated to the results of the HERIT ADAPT project, with a special focus on visual materials created based on a detailed 3D model of the Rector’s Palace. Through engaging visualizations, visitors can closely examine architectural details—particularly the capitals of this important cultural monument—and learn about innovative digital methods for preserving and protecting Dubrovnik’s cultural heritage.

Expert lecture programme included:

  • “Creation of a 3D model of the Rector’s Palace in Dubrovnik” – Božo Ćavar, M.Sc. in Geodesy – Geodata Projekt d.o.o.
  • “Effects of historical additions and seismic retrofitting on the behaviour of the Rector’s Palace in Dubrovnik under significant earthquake activity” – Prof. Dr. Davorin Penava – Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture, University of Osijek
  • “GIS-Based Mapping Tools for the Visualization of Seismic Vulnerability and Risk in Dubrovnik Old City” – Dr.-Ing. Silke Beinersdorf – Bauhaus University Weimar
  • “Monitoring of the arcade (loggia) of the Rector’s Palace in Dubrovnik” – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivan Duvnjak – Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Zagreb
