On 30 December 2025, HERIT ADAPT was featured on Hoy por Hoy Granada, a flagship general-interest programme of Cadena Ser Radio with a broad regional audience. In this interview, Dr. Ana García López presented the “La voz de las torres” an innovative five-episode series created using cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence tools.
In the interview on Radio Granada, Professor Ana García López presented The Voice of the Towers, a five-episode series produced using artificial intelligence. Developed in collaboration with José Luis Ramos, the project recreates the historical communication between the watchtowers of the Poniente region and the Alhambra’s Torre de la Vela.
The project aims to revitalise tourism in the Western Granada region by blending historical fiction with modern technology, focusingon three specific municipalities: Íllora, Montefrío, and Moclín. By utilising “screen tourism”, the phenomenon where viewers are inspired to visit locations seen on screen, the creators hope to encourage visitors to explore the hidden gems of the Granada countryside, thereby easing the tourist pressure on the city centre.
The series is a result of a multidisciplinary effort involving the University’s departments of Fine Arts, Economics, and Tourism. Although AI tools were used to produce the content, the creators emphasise the necessity of human expertise in the process. “AI doesn’t do this alone like a magic wand; you need someone behind it who knows the craft,” García López noted, highlighting the professional film and audio-visual backgrounds of the team. This initiative forms part of a European Mediterranean project HERIT ADAPT. Although artificial intelligence played a central role in the production, García López emphasized that human creative direction was essential to the project’s success. A trailer is currently available, with full episodes set to be released monthly through April 2026.
