ΗERIT ADAPT meets the SMART-HUBs project

22/02/2026
On 24 September 2025, HERIT ADAPT partner ISI/ ATHENA, participated in the Interreg GR-IT SMART-HUBs Kick-Off Meeting held in Patras. Mr. Christos Anagnostopoulos, had the chance to present the project’s best practices and achievements, with particular focus on the Greek pilot action. The development of the 3D digital model of the Temple of Apollo Epicurius and its iconic frieze was highlighted, demonstrating how advanced digital tools can enhance heritage resilience and support adaptive management in response to climate change.
While HERIT ADAPT focuses on strengthening the resilience of tourism destinations through data-driven sustainable heritage management and climate adaptation strategies, SMART-HUBs complements this approach by empowering young people—especially NEETs—with digital, green, and entrepreneurial skills in the cultural and tourism sectors. Through its digital learning platform and physical hubs across Greece and Italy, SMART-HUBs promotes hands-on training, cultural digitization, and immersive technologies.
The HERIT ADAPT pilot actions align closely with SMART-HUBs’ objectives, particularly in the digitization and promotion of cultural assets. The 3D modeling of the Temple of Apollo Epicurius serves as a concrete example of how digital heritage can be leveraged both for preservation and for innovative educational experiences, key elements in engaging new audiences and enhancing tourism attractiveness.
This exchange marked an important step toward collaboration between HERIT ADAPT and SMART-HUBs, two initiatives that share a strong commitment to linking cultural heritage with innovation, sustainability, and skills development.
