01/03/2026
On November 9th, 2025, HERIT ADAPT was featured on CONCIENCIA, the science outreach programme of the Andalusian public broadcasting service Canal Sur TV. This episode focused on the innovative, cross-disciplinary research led by the University of Granada, where art, cultural heritage, sustainable tourism and artificial intelligence intersect to create new ways of understanding and activating the Andalusian heritage, particularly interesting in the connection of the medieval watchtowers of rural Andalusia and Alhambra’s Vela watchower.

CONCIENCIA aims to bring cutting-edge research closer to a general audience, highlighting its societal impact. The programme invited the HERIT ADAPT team due to the singular and disruptive nature of the project, which bridges fields that rarely converge—AI, rural tourism, contemporary art, crafts and heritage-based storytelling.

The interview explained how HERIT ADAPT combines contemporary art, artificial intelligence, heritage and sustainable tourism to study and revitalise the medieval towers of rural Granada. It presented the use of emotional narratives, digital experiences and connected to a very well-structured tourist product to better understand tourist flows and promote balanced cultural development in the region. The programme highlighted the transdisciplinary and pioneering nature of the project and the importance of connecting technology, creativity and heritage for the benefit of local communities.
